چکیده

This study assessed the extent of reproductive losses and associated genetic parameters in dairy cattle, using in-line milk progesterone records for 14 Swedish herds collected by DeLaval's Herd Navigator. A total 330,071 samples were linked to 10,219 inseminations (AI) from 5,238 lactations 1,457 Red 1,847 Holstein cows. Pregnancy loss traits defined as early embryonic (1–24 d after AI), late (25–41 fetal (42 AI until calving), pregnancy (from 1 calving). The following classical fertility also analyzed: interval calving first service, last between interval, number per service period. Least squares means with standard error (LSM ± SE), heritabilities, correlations estimated a mixed linear model. Fixed effects included breed, parity (1, 2, ?3), estrus cycle when took place, regression on 305-d yield. year season AI, cow, permanent environmental effect considered random effects. Extensive (approximately 45%) was found, but no difference breeds. superior remaining with, respectively: 6.1 1.2% compared 13.3 1.1%, 7.0 12.3 1.2%, 54.4 1.4% 60.6 1.4%. had shorter than Holstein. Estimated heritability 0.03, 0.06, 0.02 embryonic, loss, respectively. Milk yield moderately genetically correlated both (0.52 0.39, respectively). several (?0.46 0.92). In conclusion, cows lower during stage, total, better estimates same order magnitude previously reported traits. These findings could be valuable work determine variation its potential usefulness an alternative trait or genomic evaluations.

Milk progesterone profiles in various reproductive states in dairy buffaloes under field conditions.

Fifty-one dairy buffaloes in the last two months of gestation were selected at seven private peri-urban farms in the Peshawar district. Observations were recorded in buffaloes during normal (NBS, August to January) and low breeding seasons (LBS, February to July). After parturition, rectal examination of reproductive organs was carried out. Estrus detection was made through visual observation a...

Genetic Study of Dairy Cattle and Buffalo Bulls Based on Growth, Milk Production and Reproductive Traits

The present investigation aimed to conduct a genetic study of dairy cattle and buffalo bulls based on economic traits and their phenotypic correlation. The means of various economic traits in both the species are presented. Cattle bulls reported a better libido score, Flehmen response, requirement of mounting stimulus and semen volume, conception rate and expected predicted difference for milk ...

Linear and threshold model genetic parameters for disease, fertility and milk production in dairy cattle

This study provides estimates of genetic parameters for various diseases, fertility and 305-day milk production traits in dairy cattle using data from a UK national milk recording scheme. The data set consisted of 63891 multiple lactation records on diseases (mastitis, lameness, milk fever, ketosis and tetany), fertility traits (calving interval, conception to first service, number of services ...

Genetic and Phenotypic Parameters for Milk Production Traits in the First and Second Lactation in Romanian Simmental Dairy Cows

The aim of the present study was to estimate genetic and phenotypic parameters of milk production traits in the first and second lactations of Romanian Simmental dairy cattle. For the estimation of variance, heritability, genetic and phenotypic correlations among milk yield, fat yield, protein yield, and percentages of fat and protein, 3400 first and second lactation records over a period of fi...

Estimated genetic parameters for carcass traits of Brahman cattle.

Heritabilities and genetic and phenotypic correlations were estimated from feedlot and carcass data collected from Brahman calves (n = 504) in central Florida from 1996 to 2000. Data were analyzed using animal models in MTDFREML. Models included contemporary group (n = 44; groups of calves of the same sex, fed in the same pen, slaughtered on the same day) as a fixed effect and calf age in days ...
